MATS Summer Competition

Now the club tournaments are out the way we can look to our summer events which kicks off with our annual MATS comp through early summer.
MATS is ‘mixed ability team squash’ and is a chance for players of all abilities to experience a team event. Every player will be put into teams and ranked. Then when playing against another team you play the opposite number of a similar ability level. It will be an every point counts format so even if you were to lose a game 11-8 you still score 8 points for your team.
The exact format of the games will depend on the numbers entered so please be patient on this until I can confirm but it would be great to get at least 6 teams of 6 players.
For anyone unsure I can really recommend this as an excellent way to get involved and meet some other members. Plus it’s a really good social event each week. If you can’t commit to every Wednesday no panic as normally it’s only 2 out of every 3 plus teams can call subs in if you can’t make it.
The first week of matches is 7th June, on this night it is the AGM at 7pm with MATS starting from 7:30pm.
