Court Refurbishment

Dear [[firstname]]

We are delighted that phase 1 of the court refurbishment has now been completed and both courts (instead of just court 1) will return to full use tomorrow from midday.

The walls have had plastering to repair any damage and then a repaint, the tins have been replaced and fixed (the red tin line had dropped 1/4inch) and the floors have been sanded with the markings re-painted.

Phase 2 will be replacing the doors with more modern glass ones.

We hope you enjoy the improved courts and would like to remind you on a few things you can do to help keep the courts in the best condition possible.

- footwear, please avoid wearing your court footwear in and out of the building, instead changing in to your court shoes once in the building.
- replace your grip regularly, when they become worn and deteriorate they can flake on to the court floor which in turn becomes trodden in and leave marks
- use a towel to dry sweat from your hands, wiping it on the walls can leave marks and make it greasy.
- if you for some reason start bleeding (from a dive or any other reason) please use the first aid box off court to stop the bleeding and cover it before returning to play, blood is very difficult to get out of the floorboards.

As a committee we will ensure the courts are regularly hoovered (3/4 times per week) however if the when starting play you notice the courts are dusty, please feel free to use the hoover located off court to take it up quickly!

For the next week or 2 the courts may feel a little dustier than usual whilst all the dust from the sanding moves and settles.

The nature of the game means there will inevitably be marks made on the walls and in the words of the contractor that completed the works ‘a clean court is an unused one!’

Enjoy the clean courts, you may need sunglasses the first few times!

Kind regards

The Committee
